2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Winner Brittany Charboneau

We welcome back Brittany Charboneau, fresh off winning the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon, racing as Flower the Skunk. She explains the costume choice—brand alignment, humor, and a nod to embracing authenticity—and then gets honest about the race. She endured sleepless nights with a teething baby. The heavy humidity was challenging after the Denver air. The early miles felt too hard for the pace. She admits she panicked after taking the lead. Then, she used breath cues and a mental pivot to let go of the clock. The joy spark? A character stop with Joy at mile 23, a small moment reclaiming why she runs.
Brittany’s most powerful scene happens after her finish. She spots the last runner approaching, vulnerable and alone and she slips out to encourage her through those last meters. She says it’s instinct, coach, mom, runner, and it becomes a beacon for the community. Some people mock back-of-pack finishers. Yet, she reminds us that every story matters. Kindness is the culture we build.
Brittany also leaves us some coach-level wisdom you can use this week. Practice in-run pivots to break negative loops. Accept that progress looks like a mountain range, not a ladder. Take real time off after big goals so motivation can return on its own. And most of all, remember that every story matters—front, middle, or back of the pack.

The Race Report Sponsored by Stoked Metabolic Coaching

In the race report spotlight we are joined by Lucy who Ran in the Freezey Cheeks 5k. The race started from the local Black Flannel Brewing company between 11 and 12. Runners could start any time during the hour. Lucy started at 11 to get it over with. The weather was 29, but felt like 22 with the wind chill. making this race live up to its name. The course was flat-ish, with the biggest hill being up and over the highway on the way back. Wasn’t overly concerned with time, but managed Lucy her second-fastest post college 5K time of 22:35!
